We left the old civil hospital and started our search for our doctor at Bahadur Gaonbura Road, that is, at New Balibat. I went into all the pharmacies from one side -to check if there was a doctor.
I got an answer somewhere–“See you next week”. Somewhere they say–“he’ll be available at five o’clock”. and so on.
I entered a chamber and found out that there was a doctor. He was busy with the patient inside. The receptionist asked me to sit down and wait for a while. We explained the purpose of our visit. She said the fee would be five hundred rupees. I paid five hundred rupees to register and waited to see the doctor. Finally, I thought my job would be done here.

At one point the receptionist went inside and spoke to the doctor. I heard the doctor whisper something in her ear. After a while, we were invited inside. I explained my situation and the purpose of my visit to the doctor. He says medical certificates cannot be issued without any tests like this. I told him that I only needed a medical certificate to show just as formalities. The doctor listened to me and gave me a solution. He said, “There is a laboratory nearby. Get at least two urine and blood tests.”The receptionist has already returned the five hundred rupees to me.
This time I went to the laboratory. They told me that the report could not be given before five P.M. It was already four o’clock in the afternoon. I had to shop for my bags and shoes. I left the laboratory and headed to Garh Ali to do the shopping.
I quickly went into one shop after another and started looking for the bags I needed. Finally, I bought two bags, a pair of shoes and five pairs of socks. It was five o’clock by then. Suddenly Ritu remembered that she had to buy some Ayurvedic medicines for his father. The pharmacy was in front of the court. We came by that road. But then he didn’t remember. I also had to pick up the original copy of my medical insurance lying at the Blue Dart Courier Agency office in front of Jorhat Police Station. So I walked to the office of the Courier Agency. Ritu went to the front of the court.
It was just I arrived at Blue Dart and signed my parcel. There was a call from Ritu from the other side. He was coming to me in a magic van from the bus stand with a seat reserved for me. So he told me to wait by the roadside.
After a while, I got into the magic van and found that there was no room to get inside. There were passengers in all the seats. I managed to keep my feet inside and sat down on the door lid. After a while, someone left a seat inside and came out and sat in my place.
It was eight o’clock at night when we arrived at Barhola. I also had to get a print of the train ticket. There was also the medical certificate yet to be obtained.
I didn’t have a smartphone. I booked the train ticket on my laptop. But I would need the ticket to book the bike at the railway station the next day. Fortunately, a Xerox shop was open in front of Barhola Higher Secondary School. There I took out the print of the ticket. I also filled in the Self-Declared Health Information Declaration and the indemnity bond which I had not had time to fill in for so long and took them to my pen drive for scanning and uploading.
Ritu is telling me to hurry. He insisted that I go to the doctor who asked me to have my eyes checked as a last resort.
So we decided to give it a last try. I found his quarters inside the compound of Barhola Primary Hospital. But the doctor was gone. Somewhere he went out. Of course, after a while, the doctor returned. I introduced myself and said that I had an eye examination as he had told me. I was busy and I was only able to come then. He took the form from me and filled it out. He signed and stamped the paper and returned it to me.
At last at the end of the day, I was declared physically fit to go bike riding at 8-30 pm.
